Zhang Chunlin, the deputy secretary of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, was elected as a member of the Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference.

According to the “Shanxi Xinwen Lianbo” WeChat official account, on January 13th, 2025, the 11th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference decided to add Zhang Chunlin and others as members of the Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference.

Zhang Chunlin

Public information shows that Zhang Chunlin is a male of Han ethnicity, born in February 1965 in Deyang, Sichuan. He began working in August 1986 and joined the Communist Party of China in January of the same year. He graduated from the Population, Resources and Environmental Economics Department of Xinjiang University’s Economics and Management School with an Economics PhD. He is currently a candidate member of the 20th Central Committee.

Zhang Chunlin has a long history of working in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He has served as the Executive Vice Governor of Bozhou, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Autonomous Region Audit Office, the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Development and Reform Commission, and the Vice Governor of the Autonomous Regional Government. In February 2017, he was promoted to the Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Regional Government. In January 2018, he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Regional Party Committee and continued to serve as the Executive Vice Governor of the Autonomous Regional Government.

In April 2021, Zhang Chunlin was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Party Committee and served concurrently as the Minister of the Party’s Propaganda Department. He also served as the Secretary of the Autonomous Region’s Education Working Committee at one point. In November 2023, Zhang Chunlin was transferred to serve as the Deputy Secretary of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee from his position in Xinjiang.
