In 2025, which marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Serbia, the opening of this route will add another air transport hub for China’s “Belt and Road” initiative in Serbia, further enriching Shanghai Airport’s international route network and establishing a more convenient air bridge for economic, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Serbia.

The route is operated by an Airbus A330 from Serbian Airlines. Currently, it is scheduled to operate twice a week with departures from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 22:25 Beijing time on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving at 04:45 local time on the following day. In addition, there will be departures from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to Shanghai Pudong Airport at 00:40 local time on Tuesdays and Saturdays, arriving at 18:55 Beijing time.

Last year, Shanghai Airport actively worked with airlines to increase frequencies for 19 international routes and resume eight international routes. Among them, Marseille in France, Venice in Italy, Manama in Bahrain, and Kazan in Russia were the first international routes for Shanghai. The hub network covers 291 destinations in 48 countries around the world.
