In 2025, which marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Serbia, the opening of this route will add another destination for China-Serbia air connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative, further enriching Shanghai Airport’s international route network layout and building a more convenient air bridge for economic, trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between China and Serbia.
The route is operated by Airbus A330 of Serbian Airlines. Currently, it is scheduled to operate twice a week with departures from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 22:25 Beijing time on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving at 04:45 local time on the following day. There will also be departures from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to Shanghai Pudong Airport at 00:40 local time on Tuesdays and Saturdays, arriving at 18:55 Beijing time.
Last year, Shanghai Airport actively cooperated with airlines to encrypt 19 routes and resume 8 international routes. Among them, Marseille in France, Venice in Italy, Manama in Bahrain, and Kazan in Russia were the first international routes in China, with their hub networks covering 291 destinations in 48 countries around the world.
