During the Spring Festival transportation period, the railway 12306 has piloted the “systematic automatic submission of ticket orders” function.
PENGPAI News learned from the Railway 12306 Science and Technology Innovation Center that on December 30th, the railway 12306 (including website and mobile app) further optimized ticket purchase information pre-filling services and opened a “ticket purchase information pre-filling optimization pilot” zone. During the sale of long-distance tickets for trains departing from stations in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and traveling to stations in Sichuan and Chongqing, based on pre-filled ticket purchase information, the铁路12306 will pilot the “automatic submission of ticket orders by the system” function. Traveler friends can pre-fill ticket purchase information and pre-pay tickets. The railway 12306 will automatically submit orders for them according to the traveler’s settings, making ticket purchases more convenient.
The relevant person in charge of the Railway 12306 Science and Technology Innovation Center introduced that between December 30, 2024 and February 8, 2025, the railway department will pilot the “automatic submission of ticket orders by the system” function during the sale of long-distance tickets for trains departing from stations in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and traveling to stations in Sichuan and Chongqing. From this day onward, railway 12306 users can pre-fill their ticket orders through the newly established “ticket purchase information pre-filling optimization pilot” zone for any day during the Spring Festival transportation period (from January 14, 2025 to February 22, 2025). Each order can choose a combination of “1 travel date + up to 60 train numbers”. Each user can have up to 6 pending ticket orders at the same time, with a maximum of 9 passengers per order. On the 16th day before the train departure, railway 12306 will send notifications to remind users to adjust the priority of their intended train numbers, confirm their booking information, and choose whether to pre-pay the ticket fare, which will be based on the highest executive ticket price in the order. When the tickets go on sale on the 15th day before the train departure, railway 12306 will automatically submit ticket orders for users who have pre-paid according to their priority settings, along with other ticket requests in the order submission queue. If the ticket purchase is successful, any difference between the pre-paid amount and the actual ticket price will be automatically refunded. If the ticket purchase is unsuccessful, the full amount will be refunded without any additional fees. If users do not pre-pay, they can manually submit their orders when the tickets go on sale according to the current process.
The responsible person pointed out that after the service of the “ticket purchase information pre-filling optimization pilot” zone is launched, users have a wider time range for pre-filling ticket purchase information, and the automatic submission of ticket orders by the system allows users to avoid constantly monitoring ticket sale times, effectively improving the ticket purchase experience. At the same time, it helps the railway department collect travel demand and provide a reference for increasing transport capacity.
