Shan Zhongde, the vice minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, took the position as the Party secretary of State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense Technology.
Recently, the information on the “Leadership Window” column of the official website of the State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense Technology was updated, revealing that Shan Zhongde, the current Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense Technology.
Subsequently, the State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense Technology’s official website reported that on the afternoon of December 26th, 2024, responsible comrades from the Central Organization Department attended a leadership meeting of the State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense Technology and announced the decision of the Central Committee: Shan Zhongde has been appointed as the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense Technology, while Zhang Kejian has been relieved from his position as Secretary.
Shan Zhongde is a male, born in Gaomi, Shandong on October 1st, 1970. He is an中共党员(Zhonghua与共党员，indicating that he is a member of the Communist Party of China), holds a Ph.D. in engineering, and is a researcher, doctoral supervisor, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and an expert in mechanical manufacturing. He is also the director of the National Key Laboratory of Aerospace Structural Mechanics and Control.
Shan Zhongde previously served as the Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Center at the Central South of Mechanical Sciences Research Institute, the Dean and Deputy Secretary of Zhengzhou Machinery Research Institute, Vice President of Mechanical Sciences Research Institute Group Co., Ltd., and member of the Party Committee, Vice President, Director of the Technology Committee, and First-Tier Chief Expert of Mechanical Sciences Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2019. In June 2020, he served as President and Deputy Secretary of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). Later, in November 2023, he became Secretary of the Party Committee at NUAA.
In February 2024, Shan Zhongde was appointed as Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology.
Shan Zhongde’s main research focuses on digital machinery equipment and advanced forming manufacturing technology, aerospace manufacturing technology and equipment, as well as green intelligent manufacturing technology and equipment research. As the first person to complete various projects, he has won numerous scientific and technological awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award First Prize, National Invention Award Second Prize, China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award Grand Prize, Beijing Science and Technology Award First Prize, China Patent Gold Award, etc. He has also been responsible for drafting 13 national and industry standards, authorized more than 100 invention patents (including 38 international patents in the United States, Japan, Germany, Russia), published 5 academic works, published more than 100 papers in SCI and EI journals. He has also obtained numerous honors such as the National Outstanding Young Scientists Fund, being selected as one of the first batch of “Ten Thousand Talent” innovation leaders by the State Ministry of Science and Technology, receiving the He Liangyi Youth Innovation Award in Science and Technology, National Innovation Certificate, Special Government Subsidy from State Council, etc. He has supervised and trained over 60 master’s, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.
