The newly appointed member of the Beijing Municipal Committee, Tan Xuxiang, has been assigned as the Secretary of the Municipal Political and Legal Affairs Commission.
According to the Beijing Daily on December 14, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has recently approved the appointment of Tan Xuxiang as a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party.
Following this, the updated information on the Beijing government’s official website in the “City Leaders” section indicates that Tan Xuxiang will serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, a member of the Beijing Municipal Government Party Group, Deputy Mayor, Secretary of the Urban Sub-Center Party Working Committee (concurrently), and Director of the Management Committee (concurrently).
Tan Xuxiang, male, Han ethnicity, was born in May 1966, holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and is a member of the Communist Party of China. He has worked in Beijing for a long time, having previously served as Deputy Secretary and Head of the Daxing District Committee, Secretary of the Daxing District Committee, Secretary and Director of the Party Group of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and was appointed as Deputy Mayor of Beijing in November 2021.
The previous Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee’s Political and Legal Affairs Commission was Sun Junmin, who currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee and is Minister of the Propaganda Department.
