The Taiwan Affairs Office stated that the 2024 Shanghai-Taipei City Forum is expected to be held in Taipei on December 17.
On the morning of December 11, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference, where spokesperson Zhu Fenglian answered questions from reporters regarding recent cross-strait hot topics.
During the conference, a reporter inquired about the 2024 Shanghai-Taipei City Forum, which is set to take place in Taipei on December 17. Zhu Fenglian responded that, according to information received, the forum is indeed scheduled for December 17 in Taipei, following an agreement between the cities of Shanghai and Taipei. A delegation from Shanghai will attend the forum. The theme of this year’s forum is “Smart Governance, Sustainable Future,” aimed at promoting interactive exchanges between the two cities in areas such as friendly transportation, river management, and cultural urban development. During the forum, the two cities will also sign a memorandum of understanding regarding exchange and cooperation. We hope the forum will be successful and fruitful.
