The Taiwan Affairs Office announced that Ma Ying-jeou will lead a group of Taiwanese youth to Heilongjiang and Sichuan from December 18 to 26 to participate in activities and visit the regions.
On the morning of December 11, the Taiwan Affairs Office held a regular press conference in the news release hall, where spokesperson Zhu Fenglian answered questions from reporters regarding recent cross-strait hot topics.
During the conference, a reporter from Xinhua News Agency inquired about Mr. Ma Ying-jeou’s upcoming visit to the mainland with Taiwanese youth for related activities.
In response, Zhu Fenglian revealed that Mr. Ma Ying-jeou will lead a group of Taiwanese youth to Heilongjiang and Sichuan from December 18 to 26 to participate in the Cross-Strait Youth Ice and Snow Festival and conduct visits. She expressed a warm welcome for Mr. Ma Ying-jeou’s return visit and assured that all necessary arrangements for the activities would be made.
She emphasized that China has a long history, splendid culture, vast territory, and beautiful landscapes, which constitute a common homeland for people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The youth from both sides carry the future and hope of cross-strait relations. She expressed the hope that compatriots from both sides, especially young friends, would frequently interact and engage with each other, jointly inherit and promote the excellent traditional culture of China, and work together to enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields, thereby maintaining and building a shared homeland and contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
