In a residential community in Baoshan, frequent rain leaks in the elevator lobby have raised concerns. Various parties are discussing how to provide a “rain shelter” for residents.

Recently, residents in the Xijiang Yueting community of Luodian Town, Baoshan District, Shanghai, reported that the elevator stairwell had a hollow design at the top, lacking any covering. This resulted in frequent rain leaks during rainy days, causing inconvenience for residents and posing certain safety risks.

Residents expressed their hope that relevant departments would optimize and renovate the elevator stairwell to provide a more comfortable and safe travel environment.

In response to the residents’ concerns, with the support of the town’s planning and construction office and the social work office, the community committee of Xijiang Yueting actively played a bridging role. They organized multiple research and evaluation meetings with the property management and developers, and held coordination meetings to discuss solutions. Ultimately, a construction plan for adding a roof was determined, optimizing the overall environment of the elevator stairwell.

Throughout the project implementation, the developer provided professional technical support and financial assurance. The construction units strictly followed the construction plan and quality standards to ensure the quality and safety of the project. The community committee and property management supervised the entire process to ensure construction quality and progress, while actively coordinating with residents to explain and alleviate concerns, seeking their understanding and support.

Thanks to the joint efforts of all parties, the roof construction project for the elevator stairwell was recently completed successfully. The new canopy is not only aesthetically pleasing but also has excellent waterproof performance, effectively blocking rain and snow, thus providing residents with a more comfortable and safe travel environment.
