Su Huaye, a member of the “post-90s” generation, has been nominated as candidate for mayor of Mangya, Qinghai

The new position of Su Huaye, a “post-90s” official from Qinghai who was previously announced as a candidate for the top party and government position in a county (city, district), has been officially disclosed.

According to the WeChat public account “Mangya Release,” on December 3, Mangya City held a farewell ceremony for the Zhejiang medical expert team assisting Qinghai. Liu Weimin, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Su Huaye, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Candidate, attended the ceremony. Municipal leaders Ding Zhongchao, Liu Zhigang, and Cai Yongxia also participated in the ceremony.

This also means that Su Huaye has now been appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Candidate of Mangya City, a county-level city.

Public information shows that Su Huaye, male, Han nationality, was born in January 1990. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and holds a full-time master’s degree.

In 2008, Su Huaye was admitted to the School of Law at Tsinghua University from Guangdong. After completing his master’s degree in 2014, he participated in the first targeted selection of civil servants in Qinghai and started working in the province. He successively worked in Xiaoxia Town, Ping’an District, Haidong City, the Haidong Industrial Park Management Committee, and the Haidong Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.

In 2021, Su Huaye was promoted from Section Chief of the Information and Logistics Section of the Haidong Bureau of Industry and Information Technology to Vice Mayor of Ping’an District, Haidong City. He later served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Haidong Municipal Government, Part-time Deputy Secretary of the Haidong Municipal Communist Youth League Committee, and Secretary of the Haidong Municipal Communist Youth League Committee. In early 2024, he was transferred to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Menyuan County Party Committee (at the county level) and Secretary of the Haomen Town Party Committee in Haibei Prefecture.

Mangya City was officially established in December 2018 as a county-level city formed through the merger of the Mangya Administrative Committee and the Lenghu Administrative Committee, under the jurisdiction of the Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The municipal government is located in Huatugou Town. With an area of 49,900 square kilometers, the city is the center of crude oil extraction for the Qinghai Oilfield. Mangya currently comprises Huatugou, Lenghu, and Mangya towns, with a total of 3 pastoral villages and 9 communities. The registered population is 54,000, and the resident population is 18,700, with an urbanization rate of 100%.

Liu Weimin, who previously served as Mayor of Mangya City, has been appointed as Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee.
