Summary and Exchange Seminar for the “Sword Unsheathed in Pujiang 2024” Special Law Enforcement Action Held in Shanghai Today
The “Sword Unsheathed at Pujiang · 2024” Specialized Law Enforcement Action for Personal Information Protection in the Consumer Sector Summary and Exchange Seminar was held in Shanghai on December 4. The event focused on the theme of “Strengthening Norms, Safeguarding Rights, Enhancing Momentum, and Promoting Development – Cyberspace Law Governance Contributing to the Construction of a Beautiful People’s City,” discussing how to build a robust firewall for personal information amidst the rapid development of digitalization, networking, and intelligence, enabling data to empower economic development and social governance, and leveraging cyberspace law governance to contribute to the construction of a beautiful people’s city.
Representatives from relevant departments of the Central Cyberspace Administration, the China Academy of Cyberspace Studies, and the China Cyberspace Security Association, as well as officials from the cyberspace administration offices of Shanghai, Beijing, Zhejiang, and Guangdong, attended the event.
The event will unveil the “Consensus on Personal Information Protection Cooperation Among Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Guangdong,” showcase the achievements of the “Sword Unsheathed at Pujiang · 2024” specialized law enforcement action, and introduce four comprehensive packages for businesses and consumers. These packages will provide a three-dimensional and intensive management framework and tools for the compliant use of personal information through four levels: interpretation of laws, guidance, assessment, and protection.
Hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Cyberspace Administration Office and the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, and organized by the Shanghai Internet Industry Association and The Paper, the event featured report releases, keynote speeches, achievement exhibitions, and other formats. It brought together voices from academia, industry, government departments, and cyberspace enterprises, aiming to mobilize all parties, build social consensus, establish a widely participated personal information protection mechanism, and contribute new ideas, concepts, and paths to promoting cyberspace law governance in the construction of a beautiful people’s city.
