Shanghai Jinshan Railway’s Xinzhuang Station Has Been Listed, Expected to Open on December 25
On the evening of November 25, netizens exposed on social platforms images of the completed installation and illumination of the “Xinzhuang Station” signboard on the Shanghai Railway. Some netizens commented that the illuminated effect of “Xinzhuang Station” at night was very striking, continuing the same style as other stations on the Jinshan Railway.
On November 26, reporters from The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) learned from the railway department that the Xinzhuang Railway Station had been listed recently. Currently, construction is in full swing at Xinzhuang Station to meet the conditions for opening at the end of the year.
Previously, reporters learned from the Transportation Commission of Minhang District, Shanghai, that the Jinshan Railway’s Xinzhuang Station is expected to open on December 25. At that time, passengers will be able to transfer to Metro Lines 1 and 5 at Xinzhuang Station through the overhead platform of the Xinzhuang Urban Complex.

After the opening of the Jinshan Railway’s Xinzhuang Station, the Shanghai South Connecting Line (train), Jinshan Line, subway, and buses will all achieve seamless connections here, further promoting economic and cultural exchanges between the southwest area of Shanghai’s main city and the outer suburban new towns, as well as neighboring cities in the Yangtze River Delta region. This will significantly enhance the convenience and operational efficiency of Xinzhuang, the sub-center of the main city, in terms of external transportation. This project is a crucial step in the development of the Xinzhuang Integrated Transportation Hub, upgrading the current Xinzhuang Railway Station into a transfer hub for multiple transportation modes.
According to the Shanghai Railway Bureau, Xinzhuang Station is one of the main projects of the Shanghai South Connecting Line project of the Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Passenger Railway. The Shanghai South Connecting Line, Jinshan Railway, subway, and buses all intersect at this station. Xinzhuang Station has a total construction area of 12,400 square meters and a station scale of 3 platforms and 6 tracks.
