The Leading Group for Employment Promotion and Labor Protection of the State Council Deploys Work to Address Wage Arrears at the End of the Year

According to a November 19 announcement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Leading Group for Employment Promotion and Labor Protection under the State Council held a video conference today to mobilize and deploy the Winter Campaign for Resolving Wage Arrears. The meeting summarized previous work, analyzed and judged the situation, and deployed tasks for resolving wage arrears at the end of the year and the beginning of the next. Wang Xiaoping, Deputy Leader of the Leading Group for Employment Promotion and Labor Protection under the State Council and Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting emphasized the need to firmly shoulder the political responsibility for resolving wage arrears and treat solving the issue of wage arrears as an extremely important livelihood task that must be implemented, prioritized, and done well.

The meeting required that the Winter Campaign for Resolving Wage Arrears should be carried out solidly, with a focus on implementing responsibilities, coordinating efforts, ensuring smooth channels for rights protection, conducting hazard investigations, emphasizing key areas for rectification, implementing categorized measures, and concentrating on tackling difficult problems. Various types of wage arrears issues should be addressed strictly and practically in accordance with the law, fully protecting the rights and interests of migrant workers to receive their wages and maintaining overall social stability.

The Paper learned from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security that relevant members of the Leading Group for Employment Promotion and Labor Protection under the State Council participated in the meeting at the main venue in Beijing, while the responsible comrades from provincial governments and relevant members of the local employment promotion and labor protection coordination mechanisms participated in the meeting at regional branch venues.
