Short Film on Achievements of the “Sword of Justice in Pujiang 2024” Specialized Operation for Data Security Officially Released
The “Sword Unsheathed: 2024” Specialized Law Enforcement Action for Personal Information Protection in the Consumer Sector Summary and Exchange Seminar was held in Shanghai on December 4. The event centered around the theme of “Strengthening Norms, Safeguarding Rights, Enhancing Momentum, and Promoting Development – Cyberspace Law Governance Contributing to the Construction of a Beautiful People’s City,” discussing how to fortify personal information firewalls amidst the rapid development of digitalization, networking, and intelligence, enabling data to empower economic growth and social governance, and leveraging cyberspace law governance to aid in the construction of a beautiful people’s city.
During the event, a short film summarizing the achievements of the “Sword Unsheathed: 2024” specialized action, titled “Protecting Data Security, Jointly Drawing a Beautiful Chapter for the People’s City,” was officially released. The film highlighted the in-depth progression of the “Sword Unsheathed: 2024” specialized law enforcement action, with a focus on addressing key pain points and challenges in people’s lives, resulting in significant improvements in personal information protection in critical scenarios, all under the care and support of the Cyberspace Administration’s Network Law Enforcement and Supervision Bureau.
The “Sword Unsheathed: 2024” specialized law enforcement action is anchored in strengthening norms as its foundation, safeguarding rights as its core, enhancing momentum as its goal, and promoting development as its guide, continuously building new lines of defense for security, safeguarding new visions for people’s livelihoods, stimulating new vitality in the market, and fostering new social consensuses. During the action, municipal and district-level cyberspace administration and market regulation departments facilitated the rollout of “clean QR codes” across 3,704 public parking lots in the city, enabling quick exits in two steps: entering the code and making the payment. They also reviewed over 140 local attractions rated 3A and above, guiding them to conduct self-checks and rectify issues. Compliance training was provided to 24 leading branded coffee chains and 37 top branded vending machine companies, achieving full coverage in related domestic sectors and industries. A series of themed activities for online protection of minors were held in Shanghai. Additionally, over 600 supermarkets and stores, more than 6,300 hotels, over 70 public sports venues, more than 1,200 swimming pools and fitness centers, over 2,900 public toilets, and more than 1,400 vending machines across the city underwent self-checks and rectifications for “mandatory” and “excessive” use of facial recognition technology.
