Short Film on Achievements of the “Sword of Justice in Pujiang 2024” Special Operation for Data Security Officially Released

The “Sword Unsheathed at Pujiang·2024” Special Law Enforcement Action for Personal Information Protection in the Consumer Field Summary and Exchange Seminar was held in Shanghai on December 4. The event focused on the theme of “Strengthening Norms, Safeguarding Rights, Enhancing Momentum, and Promoting Development – Internet Rule of Law Contributes to Building a Better City for the People,” discussing how to build a robust firewall for personal information amidst the rapid development of digitalization, networking, and intelligence, enabling data to empower economic development and social governance, and leveraging the internet rule of law to construct a better city for the people.

During the event, a short film summarizing the achievements of the “Sword Unsheathed at Pujiang·2024” special action, titled “Protecting Data Security, Jointly Drawing a Beautiful Chapter for the People’s City,” was officially released. The film highlighted the in-depth progression of the “Sword Unsheathed at Pujiang·2024” special law enforcement action, with support from the Cyberspace Administration of China’s Network Law Enforcement and Supervision Bureau. It focused on addressing key pain points and difficulties related to people’s livelihoods, significantly improving the status of personal information protection in critical scenarios.

The “Sword Unsheathed at Pujiang·2024” special law enforcement action was anchored in strengthening norms as its foundation, safeguarding rights as its core, enhancing momentum as its goal, and promoting development as its guide. It continuously fortified new lines of security, safeguarded new visions for people’s livelihoods, stimulated new vitality in the market, and established new social consensuses. During the action, municipal and district-level cyberspace administration and market regulatory departments facilitated the rollout of “clean QR codes” across 3,704 public parking lots in the city, enabling quick exit through a two-step process of entering a code and making a payment. Over 140 local 3A-level and above scenic spots were reviewed, with guidance provided for self-checks and rectifications. Compliance training was conducted for 24 leading brand coffee chains and 37 top brand vending machine companies, achieving full coverage in relevant domestic sectors. A series of themed activities on online protection for minors were held in Shanghai. Additionally, over 600 supermarkets, 6,300 hotels, more than 70 public sports venues, over 1,200 swimming pools and fitness centers, more than 2,900 public toilets, and over 1,400 vending machines across the city underwent self-checks and rectifications regarding “mandatory” and “abusive” facial recognition practices.
