Major officials in Anhui’s district-level cities undergo coordinated adjustments

Two Cities in Anhui Province, Tongling and Huangshan, Welcome New Party Secretaries on the Same Day.

On the morning of December 2, the Tongling Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Anhui Province convened a meeting of leading officials from across the city to announce the decision of the Anhui Provincial Committee on the adjustment of the main responsible comrades of the Tongling Municipal Committee: Yang Hongxing was appointed as a member, standing committee member, and secretary of the Tongling Municipal Committee of the CPC, while Ding Chun was relieved of his duties as secretary, standing committee member, and member of the Tongling Municipal Committee of the CPC.

Yang Hongxing

According to public information, Yang Hongxing, male, Han nationality, was born in October 1968. He holds a university degree from the Central Party School and is a member of the CPC. Yang Hongxing previously served as the secretary of the Feidong County Committee, vice mayor of Bengbu City, standing committee member and head of the Organization Department and United Front Work Department of Suzhou City Committee, and deputy secretary of the Suzhou City Committee.

In April 2022, Yang Hongxing was appointed as the secretary of the Party leadership group of the Anhui Disabled Persons’ Federation and subsequently elected as the chairman of the Anhui Disabled Persons’ Federation.

The whereabouts of Ding Chun, who was relieved of his duties as the secretary of the Tongling Municipal Committee, were also announced subsequently. On the afternoon of December 2, the “Anhui Xianfeng” WeChat official account released a message stating that the Provincial Committee had decided to appoint Ding Chun as the secretary of the Huangshan Municipal Committee.

Ding Chun

According to public information, Ding Chun, male, Han nationality, was born in October 1970 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. He holds a postgraduate degree and a doctorate, and is a senior engineer. He joined the CPC in June 1991 and started working in April 1995.

Ding Chun worked at the Electric Power Automation Research Institute in his early years and served as the director of the Stability Technology Research Institute of the Electric Power Automation Research Institute and the general manager of the Stability Technology Branch of Nanjing NARI Group Corporation. In April 2003, he was transferred to serve as the deputy secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and in October 2010, he was transferred to serve as a standing committee member and head of the Organization Department of Yangzhou City Committee, later serving as a standing committee member and deputy mayor of the Yangzhou Municipal Government and deputy secretary of the Party leadership group, and in September 2016, he was appointed as the deputy secretary of the Yangzhou City Committee.

In February 2017, Ding Chun was appointed as the deputy secretary and acting mayor of Changzhou City, and later became the mayor. In December 2019, Ding Chun was transferred across provinces to serve as the secretary of the Tongling Municipal Committee in Anhui Province.

Ling Yun, who was relieved of her duties as the secretary of the Huangshan Municipal Committee, was born in 1964. She previously served as the deputy secretary and head of the Organization Department of Hefei City Committee, deputy secretary and mayor of Hefei City, and was appointed as the secretary of the Huangshan Municipal Committee in April 2021.

Since the second half of this year, there have been adjustments to the top Party and government leaders in multiple cities with districts in Anhui Province.

For example, Wang Huadong, formerly the deputy secretary and mayor of Huaibei City, was appointed as the secretary of Huaibei City Committee; Wu Jin, formerly the deputy secretary and mayor of Chuzhou City, was appointed as the secretary of Chuzhou City Committee; He Chunkuan, formerly the deputy secretary and mayor of Xuancheng City, was appointed as the secretary of Xuancheng City Committee; Jiang Xi, formerly the deputy minister of the Organization Department of the Anhui Provincial Committee, was appointed as the deputy secretary and mayor of Huaibei City; and Hu Chunhua, formerly the deputy minister of the United Front Work Department of the Anhui Provincial Committee and the secretary and executive vice chairman of the Party leadership group of the Anhui Federation of Industry and Commerce, was appointed as the deputy secretary and mayor of Chuzhou City.
