Xiao Junzheng Assumes the Tenth Ambassadorship to Israel, Previously Served as Ambassador to Greece
According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in Israel, on November 29, the new Chinese Ambassador to Israel, Xiao Junzheng, arrived to take up his new position.
Xiao Junzheng stated that as a friend to all countries in the Middle East, China sincerely hopes that the current conflict will come to an end soon, and that Israel and Palestine can coexist peacefully, as well as the Jewish and Arab nations can harmoniously coexist. China will continue to play a constructive role in achieving peace between Palestine and Israel, as well as regional peace and stability.
Xiao Junzheng, a male of Han nationality, was born in March 1970 in Ji’an, Jiangxi Province. He holds a doctorate in history and is a member of the Communist Party of China. He previously served as a Counselor and Deputy Director-General in the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After 2019, he successively served as a Minister-Counselor and Minister at the Chinese Embassy in the Arab Republic of Egypt. In 2021, he was appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Hellenic Republic.
This time, Xiao Junzheng has succeeded Cai Run as the tenth Chinese Ambassador to Israel.
