In 2025, which marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Serbia, the opening of this route has added another aviation point for Shanghai’s collaboration with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. This has further enriched the international route network layout of Shanghai Airport and built a more convenient air bridge for economic, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Serbia.

The route is operated by Airbus A330 of Serbian Airlines. Currently, it is scheduled to operate twice a week. The flight will depart from Shanghai Pudong Airport at 22:25 Beijing time on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 04:45 local time on the following day. It will also depart from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 00:40 local time on Tuesdays and Saturdays, arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport at 18:55 Beijing time.

Last year, Shanghai Airport actively worked with airlines to increase frequencies for 19 international routes and resume eight international routes. Among them, Marseille in France, Venice in Italy, Manama in Bahrain, and Kazan in Russia were the first international routes to be launched. The hub network covers 291 destinations in 48 countries around the world.
