The national railway will implement a new train operation diagram today.
The China Railway Corporation (CRC), known as the national railway enterprise, was contacted by The Paper news on January 5th to reveal that a new train operation plan will be implemented nationwide at zero time on that day. The new plan will include 13,028 scheduled passenger trains, an increase of 230 from the previous plan, and 22,859 cargo trains, an increase of 91. This will further enhance the capacity and efficiency of passenger and cargo transportation services offered by the railway system.
According to a responsible person from the CRC Transportation Department, this adjustment to the train schedule is a comprehensive implementation of the guidelines from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee. It is also focused on serving major national strategies and regional coordinated development, deepening the structural reform of the transportation supply side, and adapting to market demand. By fully utilizing newly added railway lines, stations, and equipment, the plan aims to optimize the national railway train operation scheme and further enhance the efficiency of the railway network. This will provide better services for people’s production and living activities and contribute to the sustained recovery of the economy.
First, the new plan will make full use of the transport capacity of new lines such as the Shanghai-Suzhou-Wuxi High-Speed Rail (SHSWX), Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Rail (HZW), and Xuanwei-Jiuying High-Speed Rail (XWJ), optimizing the structure of train operation in the southeast region and supporting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. By utilizing the SHSWX high-speed rail line, the plan optimizes the regional train operation structure and releases the transport capacity of busy channels. For instance, it will add 38 high-speed trains between Shanghai and central cities such as Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and Fuzhou. There will also be 24 long-distance express trains with fewer stops and shorter travel times between Shanghai and cities such as Guangzhou, Nanchang, and Shenzhen. Additionally, two benchmark high-speed trains with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour will be added between Beijing South Railway Station and Nanjing South Railway Station. In terms of optimizing the division of labor at Shanghai Railway Hub, Shanghai Hongqiao Station and Shanghai South Station will increase their train handling capacity by 16 trains and 53 trains respectively. By utilizing the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Rail, more trains will be added between cities in the southeast coastal region and central cities such as Zhengzhou, Taiyuan, and Xi’an. Meanwhile, six high-speed trains between Nanjing North and Xi’an North will be adjusted to operate via XWJXW high-speed rail, with one such train reducing travel time by 1 hour 22 minutes between Nanjing South and Xiamen North. More train stops will be added along the Hangzhou-Shenzhen Railway, providing convenience for passengers along the route.
Second, it will utilize new lines such as Jidadao-Yuanping High Speed Rail (JDHY) and Jingjing High Speed Rail (JJHS) to adjust the high-speed rail operation plan in central and western China, serving the rise of central regions and western development. By making full use of newly opened high-speed rail lines in 2024, it aims to enhance the accessibility of high-speed trains, play a leading role in promoting coordinated regional development, and bring Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region deeply into China’s high-speed rail network through JDHY High Speed Rail. Trains for Hohhot and Baotou will be operated to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Qingdao, Xining, and other destinations with significantly reduced travel time. Beijing North (Qinghe) Station will add 26 high-speed trains for cities such as Xi’an and Chengdu for enhanced communication between Beijing and central/western cities. In terms of optimizing station work distribution in Taiyuan area, Taiyuan Station will increase its train handling capacity by 58 trains. Additionally, utilizing JJJHS, trains will be operated between Jingmen West and Hanzhong stations for connections to Wuhan; between Nanning South to Yulin station on NNTDK Southern China high-speed rail; between Xi’an North to Zhongwei South station on Huimennj KWH High Speed Rail; between Nanzhou West station in Sichuan province to Yibin station on SWJHSZ Chengdu via Chengdu South; between Kunming and Huanglong九寨沟县站利用川青铁路线等也将增开更多动车线路以增加便利程度等等不同铁路线路的运营计划得到进一步优化和升级同时提高铁路服务品质创造更加美好的出行体验等措施相继出台持续为人民群众的生产生活和经济持续向好注入活力和动力来持续完善和调整一些地区的铁路运营方案以满足人民群众日益增长的需求继续优化列车运行径路方便沿线旅客出行积极促进乡村振兴发展等举措的实施都是为了更好地
