Having received three punishment before falling, why doesn’t this director in Sichuan know the meaning of regret?

On December 25th, the “Lianjie Sichuan” website disclosed that Yang Bin, the former director of the Hongyuan County Natural Resources Bureau in Aba Prefecture who had been removed from his position, had received three disciplinary actions before being investigated. However, he did not show any sign of remorse and believed that the investigation would end after being punished, so he continued to accumulate wealth.

Yang Bin, male, born in November 1980 in Xiaojin County, Sichuan Province, started working in December 2000 and joined the Communist Party of China in November 2009. He once served as the deputy director of the Hongyuan County Urban and Rural Planning and Housing Security Bureau, the secretary of the Party leadership group of the Hongyuan County Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and the director of the bureau. In January 2022, he served as the secretary of the Party leadership group and director of the Hongyuan County Natural Resources Bureau. In April 2024, he was subjected to disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Hongyuan County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Committee.

According to the case handlers, Yang Bin has been deeply involved in the Hongyuan County housing construction system for 22 years. He regarded public power as “private power” and ran a “one-man show” in various projects. Therefore, he continued to shamelessly accept money after receiving punishment.

When Yang Bin became the secretary of the Party leadership group and director of the Hongyuan County Natural Resources Bureau with more power over projects in January 2022, Yang started looking for opportunities to further strengthen their relationship. Before the Spring Festival in 2024, Dengxue Erdong, who was then the deputy director of Hongyuan County Development and Reform Bureau learned that Yang Bin was always losing at cards and had tight finances through playing cards with him. Dengxue Erdong informed Yang about this news. Yang understood it as a signal from Dengxue Erdong and accepted 180,000 yuan delivered to his home without hesitation through Dengxue Erdong’s intermediary role.
