Shunde, Guangdong: Fireworks and firecracker can be set off in a limited time and orderly manner during festivals such as Spring Festival, New Year’s Day and National Day.
On December 23rd, the official website of Shunde District Government in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, issued an announcement on the orderly燃放燃放烟花爆竹in 2025. The announcement clearly states that the time periods for allowing燃放烟花爆竹include: Lunar New Year (from the twelfth lunar month’s twenty-third to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month), New Year’s Day, Qingming Festival, Labor Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day. Specifically, the whole day of Lunar New Year’s Eve and the first day of the new lunar year, from 8am to 23pm during the Spring Festival, and from 10am to 22pm on other statutory holidays.
The notice also defines specific燃放areas and the types of fireworks allowed. Citizens are only allowed to燃放Grade C and D personal fireworks [the product packaging is marked with “personal燃放” and “C (D)”], and it is strictly prohibited to燃放Grade A and B fireworks. The category of fireworks is based on product packaging labels.
The announcement points out that according to the second paragraph of Article 44 of the “Regulations on the Safety Management of Fireworks and Explosives”, anyone who ignites fireworks in a prohibited time or place, or in a way that endangers public safety and personal property, will be ordered to stop燃放烟花爆竹by the public security department and fined from 100 yuan to 500 yuan. Those who violate public security management will be punished according to law.
The announcement has been in effect since its publication and is valid until December 31, 2025.
