Recently, updated information on the “Municipal Party Leadership” section of the Nanning Municipal Party Committee’s website in Guangxi showed that Gu Baohua has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Nanning Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Qingxiu District Party Committee.

Gu Baohua, born in November 1970, is a member of the Yao ethnic group and is from Pingle County, Guangxi. He previously served as the Deputy Director of the Pingle County Party Committee Office; Secretary of the Tong’an Town Party Committee and Chairman of the Town People’s Congress in Pingle County; Secretary of the Pingle Town Party Committee and Chairman of the Town People’s Congress in Pingle County; and Member of the Standing Committee, Organization Minister, and Deputy Secretary of the Yongfu County Party Committee in Guangxi.
Afterwards, Gu Baohua was transferred to Guilin City, successively serving as the Mayor of Yanshan District, Director of the Guilin Civil Affairs Bureau, and Secretary of the Yanshan District Party Committee. In July 2020, he was transferred to serve as the Secretary of the Pubei County Party Committee in Qinzhou City.
In June 2021, Gu Baohua was awarded the title of “National Outstanding County Party Secretary” by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, and in August 2021, he was appointed as a Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Qinzhou Municipal Party Committee.
On October 27th of this year, the Organization Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee released a pre-appointment announcement for leading cadres. Among them, Gu Baohua was proposed for further appointment as a deputy department-level leadership position in a prefecture-level city.
